Shahan Azeem, DVM MSc (Hons.) PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Microbiology and Advisor Final Year as well as Internship Coordinator of Medical Laboratory Technology (City Campus), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He won a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on developing and validating surveillance tools for avian influenza viruses in migratory wild birds and poultry. He has experience in diagnostic investigations of viral and bacterial diseases of animals. His research focus is infectious diseases of animals including those transmissible between humans and animals. He believes that a one health approach is the only solution to the health problems of humans, animals, and the environment. He has been a Focal Person for the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Degree Program (City Campus) for 5 years.
